WNZR Thanks Your for Supporting Food for the Hungry!

Thanks to everyone that supported Food For The Hungry. Our total is $180,000 and 54 truckloads of food! All food and funds will stay in Knox County to be distributed to families in Knox County. Click here to see some amazing pictures from this year’s drive.

- Congratulations to the Knox County Career Center for winning the Stanley Can Award for the 10th straight year. The Career Center students collected 6,700 food items and $4,900 in cash which equals over 26,000 food items – 41.7 items per student! Amazing!! We are so proud of YOU!

- Centerburg High School collected over 12,000 food items and $936

- Fredericktown High School collected 600 food items and over $493

- Mount Vernon High School gave 853 food items and over $2,100

- And East Knox High School collected 1,002 items and $220

- The elementary school kids collected 13,140 food items and collected $7,208.05! Twin Oak was the top school collecting over 2,300 items and $1,282!

- The YMCA Preschool children collected over 640 cans of food and $135!

- The Knox County Career Center Auction brought in $25,900 for Food For The Hungry. Thanks to our buyers: Harley Scott of Wooster, Anita VanWinkle of Mount Vernon, Brittany and Jordan Eckert of Butler, Linn Freeman of Mount Vernon and Renee McDaniel of Apple Valley.

- Mrs. Z’s Hat Auction brought in $2,700. Thanks to our buyers: Dean and Audrey Spearman, “the Rollin’ Buckeyes”, Rita Gaddis, the VFW Post 4027 and Monet Wiford.

- The Psi Iota Xi Auction of Holiday Treasures brought in $28,202! Thanks to our corporate sponsors First Knox National Bank and the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon and Knox County. Thanks to all of our wonderful artisans who created masterpieces for the auction and thanks to all of our sponsors. Thanks to all of our buyers!

- Congratulations to our Shopping Cart Derby winners: the MV News team received the awards for Most Money Collected and Fastest to the Square and the WMVO/Eagle 93.7 team received the award for most food collected. Over $2,000 and 1 1/2 truckloads of food was collected.

- The Fredericktown Christmas Walk and Auction brought in over $4,000 dollars. Fredericktown’s overall total for the drive was $8,009 and 2 1/2 truckloads of food.

- Centerburg’s total was $2,248 and 1 truckload of food.

- Danville’s total was $4,830 and 5 truckloads of food. Their auction at First Knox National Bank brought in $800.
