Volf has been involved in international ecumenical dialogues, such as the Vatican Council for Promotion of Christian Unity and interfaith dialogues such as the Christian-Muslim dialogue. Known for his works on systematic theology, ethics, conflict resolution and peace-making, Volf has written numerous award-winning books including Free of Charge: Giving and Forgiving in a Culture Stripped of Grace; Work in the Spirit: Toward a Theology of Work; and, After Our Likeness: The Church as the Image of the Trinity. His book Exclusion and Embrace was selected as one of Christianity Today’s 100 best religious books of the 20th century.

Volf received his B.A. from the Evangelical-Theological Faculty, Zagreb; his master’s degree from Fuller Theological Seminary; and his doctorate of theology from the University of Tübingen, where he studied under Jürgen Moltmann. He currently serves as the Henry B. Wright Professor of Theology at Yale University Divinity School and Director of the Yale Center for Faith and Culture. He has been a member in both the Episcopal Church and the Croatian Evangelical Church.
