August 22, 2008
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Mount Vernon Nazarene University was ranked for the fifth year in a row in the top tier "Best Baccalaureate Colleges" by U.S. News & World Report in its America's Best Colleges 2009 publication.
A Campus on the Move
MVNU ranked as number 33 on the list of Midwestern colleges and universities this year. This is up 19 spots from 2006s ranking as number 52. Leaders at MVNU are grateful for the recognition and are focused on continuing to provide affordable private higher education that focuses on shaping the whole person, cultivating Christ-likeness, and encouraging lifelong learning and service.
Affirming Excellence
"This recognition serves to affirm the University's commitment to provide a total, quality educational experience to students. All members of the University, including the students, staff members, faculty and administrative staff, strive to develop and deliver teaching-learning activities focused on the University's mission," explained Dr. Randie Timpe, vice president for Academic Affairs. "An achievement of this order occurs only through the integrated efforts of the whole campus as it serves the community, region and world."
