International piano professor to perform recital

Dr. JoAnn Koh-Baker
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- Dr. JoAnn Koh-Baker, professor of music at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, will present a complete recital of Frédéric Chopin's Piano Concerto in F minor, Op. 21, on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 3 p.m. in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium. She will be assisted by John Reitz on a second piano.

Dr. Koh-Baker recently completed her spring 2008 sabbatical leave and returned from Singapore and Malaysia where she presented recitals and conducted master classes. She will also be featured in the School of Arts and Humanities Fall Symposium presenting a lecture on "Integrating Analysis into Performance: Formal Principles and the Hidden Program in Chopin’s Piano Concerto in F minor" with several demonstrations on two pianos on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 10:20 a.m., in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium.

Both events are free and open to the public.
